Sign up

Go to app.steerd.io and choose Sign up. You need an email address you can read right now, because the next step is a verification link.

When you sign up you create two things at once: your personal account, and the workspace that holds your data. You are the owner of that workspace, which is the only role that can manage billing.

Verify your email

We send a verification link the moment you sign up. Until you click it, your account exists but cannot do much.

If the mail has not arrived after a few minutes, check the spam folder first. The sender is steerd.io.

Joining a team instead

If somebody invited you, you do not sign up. You open the invite link they sent, and it takes you straight to an account form that is already tied to their workspace.

Two things follow from that:

• The invite link is personal. It carries the role and permissions the person who invited you chose. Forwarding it to a colleague gives them that role, not a new one.
• An invite can expire. If the link no longer works, ask for a fresh one rather than signing up separately. Signing up separately creates a second, empty workspace, which is almost never what anyone wants.

Signing in

After verification, sign in at app.steerd.io with your email and password.

If you belong to more than one workspace, you sign in once and switch between them inside the app.

When you forget your password

Choose Forgot password on the sign-in screen and enter your email address. We send a reset link that is valid for a limited time.

The screen says Check your email whether or not that address has an account. That is deliberate: it stops anyone using the form to find out who has an account here. So if no mail arrives, the address you typed may simply not be the one you signed up with.

Your new password must be at least 8 characters. If the reset link has already expired, the page says so and offers to send a fresh one.
